Thanks for visiting our website! I hope that that you visit us in person soon. We are a small congregation right now but hope that you will join us to continue to renew our commitment to reaching Freeport with the Gospel of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love Jesus because He saved me even when I felt unsavable. Come grow with us!

Now a litttle about me. I grew up on a small farm near a tiny town called Russiaville, Indiana (pronounced Rooshaville). I have five sisters and two brothers. A brother and a sister have gone home to be with the LORD. My mom and dad divorced when I was very young so my mom was left to raise eight of us by herself. I have an immense amount of love and respect for my Mom. I trusted Jesus as Savior in January 1986.

By God's grace I received a scholarship to Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana to play football. I graduated in 1992 with a degree in Secondary Education. While I was attending Butler, I met my future wife Jennifer (pictured above). She graduated from Purdue University.Jennifer and I are approaching our 30th wedding anniversary! We have three adult children; Hannah, Jacob, and Alyssa.

For several years we both were far from God. God, however, had different plans for us. Jennifer trusted Jesus as Savior in 1999 and I rededicated my life at the same time. The LORD then led me to apply to Dallas Theological Seminary in 2007. I graduated in 2012 with a degree in Pastoral Ministries in 2012.

I have pastored in Arlington, Texas, Quartzsite, Arizona, Forreston Illinois, Kimmell, Indiana before coming to pastor here at FBC Freeport.

Yes, Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you all to visit us in person. We would love to have you here in person to Worship with us to learn more about God with us. To serve Him and His good and perfect plan through us. 

We are a small congregation as Pastor Mark stated, but we are praying everyday that God will grow our Church to have a bigger impact in this community and beyond in reaching people for Jesus and bringing God the Glory! I love Jesus!
We were married in 1995, it was love at first sight. At this time, we had been married for about 5 years and we longed to have children of our own. I was struggling with fertility issues and we went to specialist doctors and still we could not have children. I was desperate and was crying out to the Lord to please give me children. After many years of pain and struggling, God answered our prayers and gave us the gift of three precious children, Hannah, Jacob, and Alyssa. During this time, I was saved by Jesus, I trusted Jesus as savior and dedicated my life to serving Him. Thankfully, I have been walking with him ever since. God has given me a heart for Women’s ministry and for Children’s and Youth ministry. I am praying, learning, growing closer to Jesus everyday. Again, I invite you to join us to Worship, Pray, Learn, and Grow with us at 10:45 Sunday Mornings. It is an adventure then you are following the Lord. Join us on this adventure of following God!
